London and City Learners

There are many factors that decide whether you will pass your driving test. And if you have read our article that is available on the home page then you are one mighty step further in understanding why. Recent official figures reveal that those who live in London are among the least successful when it comes to passing the test. And one of the reasons experts believe this to be the case is simply the fact that crowded and difficult roads pose a bigger challenge for learner drivers.

Figures compiled by the AA who surveyed over 20,000 AA members to find out whether where you lived had an impact on pass rates. The findings, not surprisingly, found that those in built up areas, with aggressive and scary roads akin to large city areas and towns - like London - were much more of a challenge for learners. Those who decided to tackle their tests without using professional instructors faired the worse. Pass rates are clearly influenced by a number of factors, such as the state of the roads where you live and above all the quality of professional tuition you receive. Clearly in London, the complex roads, intense traffic and impatience and speed of other drivers all have serious impact on the city learner driver. London learner drivers tend to face many more challenges from cyclists, motorbikes and pedestrians - and negotiating the impatient and sometimes aggressive fully qualified London drivers in their vast amounts is intimidating to say the least for even the well seasoned and out of town fully qualified driver.

Eye Popping

However, correctly and wisely chosen Professional instruction, as well as the all important location, was found to be the deciding factors to overall driving test success. On average, successful learner drivers who have initially chosen their tutor very well, wisely and have taken on average 48 hours of professional tuition and 26 hours of private practice, do so before they pass their test successfully.
